Dave's Music Gear (DMG) Mobile Music Store

Based out of a 1949 Trail-ette travel trailer, DMG Mobile will eventually be experimenting in modern retailing - a "pop-up" business. The concept is simple but the logistics are not, and are still in development.

For several years, I've been relatively successful at creating a "storefront" within flea markets - first at the Emporium in Parsons, KS (now closed), and currently at Black Crow Trading Co. in Oswego, KS.  The huge advantage has been very low overhead/operating costs, which I've been able to pass on in the form of lower retail prices.  The disadvantage is that it's much harder to control and display inventory.

Having a traditional brick and mortar, six-days-a-week, business would address inventory control and floor space issues, but at a tremendous cost.  The additional expense of a building, insurance, utilities, and employee wages alone would increase retail prices by 65 to 75 percent. 

That's not going to happen.

The only viable alternative I've come up with is to adopt a non-traditional business model, one which offers the advantages of a physical storefront but without all of the added expenses.  In other words, DMG Mobile - a music store on wheels!

Initially, this venture would be small scale, being open at only one location, for one day, each week.  However, depending on demand and success, DMG Mobile could easily be expanded to add locations and days.

The launch date for DMG Mobile is currently pending.  The planned hours of operation and location would be from 9am to 6pm, in Parsons, KS (I'm currently trying to determine the best location).  You always have the option to contact me directly to inquire about, or purchase, products.

DMG Mobile will not replace the booth at Black Crow Trading Co. - both will be operated independently of each other to provide customers with the best options to suit their needs.
